It is learnt that a case has been filed against National Citizen Party (NCP) chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari on behalf of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s political advisor Mirza Abbas.
Ramna Police Station BNP President Ashraful Islam has filed the case, said the plaintiff’s lawyer Md. Amirul Islam Amir.
After Nasiruddin Patwari lost the election, the lawyer told reporters that the plaintiff had approached the court after being ‘afflicted’ by various false and defamatory statements and threats on social media and various online newspapers.
“Those news and video footage were submitted to the court through a pen drive” and the court reviewed the case and “issued summons under sections 500 and 504,” said Mr. Amir.
