Cleanliness drive to prevent dengue in Lalmonirhat

The Lalmonirhat Sadar Upazila administration has organized an awareness rally and cleanliness drive to raise public awareness about preventing various mosquito-borne diseases including dengue.

The program was held at 10 am on Saturday in Barabari Union of Sadar Upazila.

Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu was present as the chief guest in the program. Speaking as the chief guest, he said that mosquito-borne diseases in the country are not limited to the capital Dhaka.

Now it is spreading in rural areas as well. In this situation, the Prime Minister has directed to give importance to cleanliness. Everyone should be aware that garbage or dirty water should not accumulate anywhere and everyone should be aware of destroying the source of dengue.

He also said that the rally has been organized by the district administration to raise awareness among the people. Such programs will be continued continuously so that water does not accumulate anywhere in houses, shops and roads and the environment remains clean.

Present at the event were Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner HM Rakib Haider, Lalmonirhat Municipality Administrator Md. Rajib Ahsan, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Mononita Das, Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station OC Matin, Barabari Union Parishad Chairman Nazmul Huda Limon, BNP Joint General Secretary ABM Faruk Siddiqui, Barabari Union BNP General Secretary Ranjit Kumar, and other administration officials and political leaders.

After the rally, a cleanliness drive was conducted in different areas of Barabari Union.
