Congress candidate left National Congress and joined Trinamool

South 24 Parganas Correspondent:

Abdul Majid Halder, candidate of the National Congress of India in Magrahat West, No. 141, Assembly constituency of South Twenty-four Parganas district, today joined the National Congress holding the hand of Trinamool Congress candidate of Magrahat West, Samim Ahmed.

Abdul Majeed Halder is said to be close to Prof. Manoranjan Halder, president of Sunder Ban District Congress of South Twenty Four Parganas district and current district president Moktar Ahmad. Earlier, in the last panchayat election, he contested as an independent candidate from the Panchayat Samiti of North Kusum region of Magrahat West against Indian National Congress candidate Said Imam and lost to Trinamool Congress candidate Nuruzzaman Sekh.

After that, he served as the President of Block Jatiya Congress in Magrahat West. And many old National Congress leaders and workers could not accept him. Despite this, some Indian National Congress leaders gave him party ticket from Magrahat West.

After that the campaign started. Rumors started among the general workers about his candidacy. Because his brother was the North Kusum region Trinamool Congress leader and panchayat member, there was pressure on him. Finally, Abdul Majid Halder along with some of his companions joined Trinamool Congress today.

Indian National Congress leaders and workers said that the Indian National Congress will not influence the Magrahat West National Congress in the event of his leaving the party. However, as a result of leaving the party just before the elections, the question of who will be chosen by the leaders and workers of the Indian National Congress remains in Magrahat West.
