Dhaka Correspondent:
Sayed Saifuddin Ahmed Maizbhandari, Sajjadanshin of Maizbhandar Darbar Sharif, said at a grand gathering organized at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on the occasion of the traditional Jashan-e-Julus, âWe got freedom in exchange for the blood of countless martyrs in 1971. A mass movement was organized in 2024 to establish democracy. But it is sad but true, we are not seeing the success of that movement.â
He said these things at a gathering organized after the colorful rally of the Jashan-e-Julus around 12:30 pm on Saturday. Dr. Syed Saifuddin Maizbhandari said, âWe can increase the dignity of our own religion by respecting other religions. But today, violence, fanaticism and ruthlessness have spread so much that humanity has almost disappeared from society.â
âThe main purpose of celebrating Eid Milad-un-Nabi for a month is to establish kindness, affection and goodwill among people. However, some people are tarnishing the image of the country through arson and destructive activities.â
âLike in 1971, we have not seen the benefits of democracy from the 2024 movement. I pray for the martyrs, the injured and the victims. Today, terror has been created in the country, no country can function like this.â
âI say to those who are conspiring on Eid Milad-un-Nabi and creating division by saying innovation after innovationâlet us all celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi together. We are organizing this to achieve the pleasure of Allah.â
Other speakers’ opinions – Farhad Mazhar: “After the July Movement, the country we expected did not happen. The politics of the Prophet (PBUH) is a mass uprising. He conquered Mecca against arrogance, violence and oppression. We will also stand against that oppression.”
Mashuke Moinuddin Ahmed Al Maizbhandari: “The barbarity that is going on in the current society is not possible to be a follower of the Prophet. When we are tested, we will have to recite more Durood. May the light of the Prophet’s life illuminate our lives.”
Ghiyasuddin Taheri: “Since the July Movement, we are not safe anywhere, be it in the Khanka, the highway, or the office. 69 Khankas have been demolished in the last one year. I call on the chief advisor to take legal action against these attackers. If Saifuddin Maizbhandari calls, twelve and a half thousand Khanka Asheqans and Muridans are ready to take to the streets.”
AKM Masud: âWe have been patient for a long time. Now there is no time for patience. If we are hit, we will have to hit back. No more hits can be given without resistance.â Dr. Saifuddin Ahmed Maizbhandari prayed for world peace including Palestine in his prayer.
The rally, moderated by Maulana Baki Billah Al Azhari, was also addressed by Abdullah Al Maruf, ANM Masud Hossain Al Qaderi, Golam Mohiuddin Latifi, Kazi Md. Mohsin Chowdhury, and others.
The procession in celebration of Eid-e-Miladunnabi was successfully completed with a colorful rally, spiritual discussion meeting, and pledge of unity.
