EC announces roadmap for 13th parliamentary elections

The Election Commission (EC) has announced the roadmap or action plan for the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections. EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed released the roadmap at a press conference held at the Election Bhaban in Agargaon in the capital on Thursday (August 28).

At the press conference, he said that the Election Commission will complete the election preparations step by step according to the new roadmap. The action plan includes various important aspects including law and order control before and after the elections, fair voting, updating the voter list, use of modern technology, training activities and verification of nominations of candidates.

The senior secretary said that the EC will play a neutral role in ensuring the transparency and acceptability of the elections. He also assured to work in coordination with the administration and law enforcement agencies to maintain a fair voting environment.

Four EC election commissioners, senior officials of the secretariat and media personnel were present at the announcement of the roadmap. According to the Election Commission, the main goal of the commission is to gain the trust of voters and political parties through the implementation of this roadmap.

The upcoming 13th National Assembly elections are very important for the democracy of Bangladesh. The Election Commission’s roadmap is not just a timetable, but a reflection of the commitment to provide the people of the country with the opportunity to exercise their voting rights. It is essential to properly implement this action plan to organize fair, impartial and peaceful elections. In order to protect democratic values, the cooperation of political parties and the general public is also essential.
