Midford Medical is running a test business in the name of treatment

Dhaka Correspondent:

Images of irregularities are coming to the fore one after another at the capital’s Midford Medical College Hospital. The hospital has been facing allegations of excessive and unnecessary testing and bed trading for a long time. Now, another serious allegation has surfaced – patients are being released before they are fully recovered.

Patients and their relatives allege that a broker ring is active in the hospital, who collect extra money from patients in the name of treatment and pressure them to send them to outside clinics or diagnostic centers. Under the pretext of freeing up beds, semi-recovery patients are being released, forcing them to seek treatment at expensive private hospitals.

A patient’s relative expressed his anger and said, “My brother was still in a critical condition, but he was released from the hospital. Later, he had to be admitted to a private hospital at double the cost.”

A hospital official admitted on condition of anonymity that patients are often released quickly due to bed shortages. However, relatives claim that a commission-based broker ring is behind this.

Health experts say that these irregularities in the name of treatment are not only putting patients’ lives at risk, but are also eroding public trust in the government hospital system. They have called for an immediate investigation and strict action against those responsible.

People’s question – when will this festival of irregularities and corruption at Midford Medical stop?
