Husband and wife arrested with 1,780 pieces of Yaba in Mymensingh

The Narcotics Control Department has arrested a husband and wife with 1,780 pieces of Yaba tablets in an anti-drug operation in Mymensingh. The operation was conducted in the Rajaganj Saheb Kanchari Bazar area under Kotwali Model Police Station on Friday (August 22, 2025) night.

The operation was conducted by Md. Kawsarul Hasan Roni, Assistant Director of the Narcotics Control Department’s Divisional Detective Office, Mymensingh. The arrested persons are – Md. Habib (37), father: Md. Mahbub Alam, mother: Rokeya Begum and his wife Sajeda Akhter (24), father: deceased Shahabuddin. Both of them are residents of Boro Dighirpar (Gunnu Bolir Bari) area of ​​Chikandandi Union No. 12 of Hathazari Upazila of Chittagong district.

1,780 pieces of Yaba tablets were seized from them in the operation. Later, Sub-Inspector Md. Mostafizur Rahman filed a case against the arrested accused at Kotwali Model Police Station under the relevant sections of the Narcotics Control Act.

Law enforcement agencies said that the anti-drug operation will continue.
