A program to distribute LLP sets and floating canvas pipes to farmers in the char areas of Dimla Upazila has been held to bring them under the umbrella of sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural systems. Member of Parliament Maulana Abdus Sattar was present as the chief guest at the program organized on Sunday.
Upazila Administration Officer Imranuzzaman, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Rawshan Kabir, Upazila Agriculture Officer Mir Hasan Al Banna, Dimla Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Shawkat Ali Sarkar, Upazila Assistant Programmer Shahanur Alam, Nilphamari District BNP Committee Member Golam Rabbani Pradhan, and Upazila Jamaat Ameer Professor Maulana Mujibur Rahman along with other political and administrative figures were also present at the time.
In his speech as the chief guest at the program, he said that the government has taken various initiatives to make agriculture modern and environmentally friendly. In continuation of this, this assistance is being provided to the farmers in the char areas, which will play an important role in facilitating the irrigation system as well as increasing production.
He also said that the current government is working for the welfare of farmers and such support programs will continue in the future. This will not only benefit the farmers, but will also help ensure the country’s food security.
Local public representatives, officials of the Agriculture Department and members of the farmers’ group were present at the event. Finally, LLP sets and floating canvas pipes were distributed among the farmers.
