New food processing project launched in Thakurgaon district

Local Government is going to make the long-standing promise of Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister and BNP Secretary General Mr. Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir a reality. A new project is going to be launched in Thakurgaon district, which is the BSCIC Food Processing Industrial City under the Ministry of Industries.

Today, Saturday, Industries Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, Secretary, other high-ranking officials and Thakurgaon Deputy Commissioner Mr. Mohammad Rafiqul Haque and local business leaders, journalists were present. As the only food processing industrial city in Bangladesh, a total of 251 plots with a land area of ​​50 acres will be given to successful entrepreneurs on the basis of priority of the Bangladesh government.

Heritage Group will build a food processing factory here and create employment for the unemployed, young and educated youth of the backward communities of Thakurgaon, including Baliadangi, Haripur, and Ranishankail upazilas.

Heritage Group Managing Director Faizul Islam Hiru said that 25,000 people will be employed, 251 industrial plots will be created on 50 acres of land and about 230 industrial units will be established. With the aim of increasing women’s empowerment, 25 industrial plots will be allocated as 10 percent.
