Illegal construction and parking of vehicles are going on on the bridge built over the Karangi River in Bahubal. This has created an abnormal situation for public movement.
Eyewitnesses said that the bridge was built at a cost of more than six lakh taka on the Farangi River in Habiganj Upazila. The upazila residents demanded that the dilapidated bridge be demolished and a new one be built. Although it was built after a long wait, illegal parking of vehicles and shops have been built on the bridge. This has created an abnormal situation for the normal prayers of the people. The victims said that if the construction is removed from the bridge, the normal situation will return. They also demanded that administrative action be taken.
