Police recovered the body of a van driver named Limon (17) tied to a tree from Shankarpasha Bilpar area of Abhaynagar upazila of Jessore on Tuesday (August 12).
The deceased Limon’s home was in Jag Babu More of Noapara Municipality. He is an autovan driver by profession. He is the son of Kashem of Jag Babu More area.
According to local and police sources, someone tied him to a tree and left him in a beel at midnight on Monday and fled. The miscreants took his autovan, mobile phone and money and fled, leaving his body behind.
Neighbors said that he was a hardworking, honest and helpless person. Every day, ignoring the sun and rain, he would sometimes pull sacks to the godown, sometimes drive an autovan – just to bring a smile to the faces of his family. But that sweaty life was stopped by some perverts. They killed him and snatched his money, mobile phone and autovan.
Abdul Alim, officer-in-charge of Abhaynagar Police Station, said that after receiving the information in the morning, we reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Jessore Morgue for autopsy.
