A preparatory meeting has been held in Kachua, Bagerhat, to celebrate the upcoming Bengali New Year 1433 with due dignity and festive atmosphere. The meeting discussed various programs to welcome the new year. The meeting was chaired by Md. Ali Hasan, and important directions were given by administration officials and local political leaders as the chief guest and special guest.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner (Land) Muhammad Asif Haider, Kachua Upazila BNP President Sardar Zahid, General Secretary of Kachua Press Club Ujjwal Kumar Das, and officials of various government and private departments, local dignitaries and journalists.
The speakers at the meeting said that Bengali New Year is the festival of the life of Bengalis. Our goal is to maintain peace and order around this festival and welcome the new year through colorful arrangements. Emphasis was placed on the smooth management of the Mangal Shobhajatra, cultural programs and rural fair on the day of Pahela Baishakh.
In the president’s speech, Md. Ali Hasan said, “We want to celebrate a joyful and safe New Year with the collective efforts of everyone. For this, the cooperation of the administration as well as political and social organizations is highly desirable.”
The participants present at the event presented various constructive proposals to maintain the tradition of New Year in Kachua. Finally, the meeting was declared closed by wishing everyone a happy New Year in advance.
