With the theme of “Technology in Building an Innovation-Based Bangladesh”, the 47th National Science and Technology Week 2026 and the award distribution and closing ceremony of the two-day Science Fair have been organized in Tanor Upazila of Rajshahi.
It is learned that the award distribution ceremony of the fair was organized in the Upazila Parishad auditorium on Monday (April 13) in the late afternoon. 18 stalls of various educational institutions of the upazila were set up in the fair. Students presented their innovative projects, science-based models and various technology-based ideas in these stalls. Along with the fair, the 10th Science Olympiad and Science Quiz Competition have been organized for the participation of students, which have played a helpful role in developing their science practice and creativity.
The program organized under the overall supervision of Upazila Assistant Programmer Jahangir Alam was presided over by Tanor Upazila Executive Officer and Upazila Administrator Naima Khan, Rajshahi-1 (Tanoor Honorable MP of Godagari) parliamentary constituency Mr. Professor Mojibur Rahman.
Among others, Upazila Health Family Planning Officer (THO) Barnabas Hasdak, Upazila Agriculture Officer Saifullah Ahmed, Tanor Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Masud Parvez, Livestock Officer Dr. Wazed Ali, Social Service Officer Shahidul Islam, Academic Supervisor of Secondary Education Office Saima Anjuman, Branch Manager of Palli Sanchay Bank Monirul Islam, Upazila Jamaat Amir Alamgir Hossain, Secretary DM Akkas Ali, Tanor Municipal Jamaat Amir Moksed Ali, Tanor Municipal BNP Convener Ekram Ali Mollah were also present.
Before the conclusion, the guests visited the stalls of the fair and highly appreciated the innovative work of the students.
According to the organizers, such events are playing a role in creating a science-minded and innovative generation. Science Mundumala Kamil Madrasa secured 1st place in the senior group (college level) stall evaluation at the fair, 2nd place was taken by Government Abdul Karim Sarkar College, and 3rd place was taken by Mundumala Women’s Degree College. 1st place was taken by the junior group (school level) stall evaluation at the science fair.
