A rally and discussion meeting were held in Joypurhat on the occasion of World Breastfeeding Week. A rally was taken out from the District Civil Surgeon’s Office at 11 am on Monday (August 25) to mark the day.
The rally circled the road in front of the DC’s office and ended at the Civil Surgeon’s office premises. Later, a discussion meeting was organized in the Civil Surgeon’s meeting room.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Al Mamun, Superintendent of Joypurhat General Hospital Dr. Sardar Rashed Mubarak, Senior Consultant (Child) Dr. Yusuf Ali, Assistant Director of the District Family Planning Office Zakaria Hossain, Sadar Upazila Health Officer Dr. Tulshi Chandra Roy, among others, spoke at the discussion meeting organized by the Public Health Nutrition Institute and implemented by the District Civil Surgeon’s Office.
Prioritize breastfeeding, build sustainable support systems – World Breastfeeding Week, which begins today, will continue until August 31 under this theme. This week will be observed properly and awareness will be raised about breastfeeding by analyzing the quality of breast milk for children.
