Robbery at BNP leader Hamid’s house in Rani Pukur village, Bhimpur, Mahadevpur, Naogaon

A gang of robbers tied up the people of the house of a BNP leader in Rani Pukur village of Bhimpur Union No. 10 of Mahadevpur in Naogaon and looted cash, motorcycles, gold ornaments and other goods worth about 8 lakh taka.

The incident took place at around 3 am on Tuesday in Rani Pukur village of Bhimpur UP of the upazila. According to police and local sources, at around 3 am on this day, a gang of robbers consisting of 8 to 10 people entered the house of former Bhimpur Union BNP Vice President Abdul Hamid, tied up the householder and his family members and looted 80 thousand taka in cash, a Discover motorcycle, about 4.5 bhori gold ornaments, mobile phones, goats, rice and pulses, and clothes.

Upon receiving the news, Additional Superintendent of Police of Mahadevpur Circle Joybrata Pal and OC of the police station Md. Shahin Reza visited the scene in the morning. The victim, Abdul Hamid, said that a group of 8 to 10 masked robbers entered his house, beat him up, tied him up and looted everything including cash, motorcycles and gold ornaments. He said that the value of these goods would be around 8 lakh taka.

In this regard, Officer-in-Charge of Mahadevpur Police Station Md. Shahin Reza said that after receiving the information, the scene was inspected. The process of filing a case in this regard is underway at the police station.
