Today is the holy Laylatul Meraj.

Desk Report:

The holy Laylatul Miraj or Shabe Miraj is today, Friday. A very important chapter in the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was completed on this night of the 26th of the month of Rajab. During this time, he ascended to the heavens in a divine way and met the Almighty Allah. Devout Muslims spend this significant night of Islam in worship and devotion.

It is worth noting that five daily prayers were made obligatory for Muslims through the incident of Miraj. It was on this night that Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) brought the provision of offering prayers five times a day.

According to the history of Islam, in the tenth year of the Prophethood of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) or one night in 621 AD, he went from the Kaaba Sharif to the ‘Baitul Muqaddas’ or Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem and led the congregation of the prophets. This event of going to Masjid-ul-Aqsa is called ‘Isra’ in the language of the Quran. From there, he went to heaven in a special vehicle called ‘Buraq’ and this event is called ‘Miraj’. On this journey, he was accompanied by the angel Gabriel (AS).

Gabriel (AS) took Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) to visit the ‘Sidratul Muntaha’ located in the heavens, the river of Paradise and the ‘Baitul Ma’mur’, the place of worship designated by Allah for the angels. After that, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) met Allah Almighty.

In order to seek the mercy of the Almighty, devout Muslims spend this night of Shabe-Miraj in the mosque, at home or in various institutions, reciting the Quran, performing dhikr-adhkar and worshipping Allah. On this occasion, the Islamic Foundation has organized a discussion meeting and prayer gathering at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.
