Dhaka Correspondent:
Today, February 28, a torchlight procession of the BDS (Marxist) was held in protest against the US attack on Iran. The torchlight procession started from the party’s central office on Topkhana Road and ended at Paltan More after circling Purana Paltan, Nur Hossain Chattar, Baitul Mukarram Market, Press Club More.
After the procession, a short rally was held at Paltan More. The rally was moderated by Comrade Rashed Shahriar, member of the Central Executive Forum of the BDS (Marxist) party, Comrade Seema Dutta, member of the Central Executive Forum of the party, and Comrade Masud Rana, coordinator of the Central Executive Forum, presided over the rally.
Comrade Masud Rana said at the gathering, “The unprovoked joint military attack on Iran by imperialist America and Israel is a clear violation of all international civilized norms and the UN Charter. This attack took place after US President Trump threatened to attack Iran for the past few weeks. We believe that only the Iranian people reserve the right to determine the future of Iran, and the imperialist regimes of America and Israel do not have that right at all.
This attack is nothing but a shameless and naked interference in Iran’s independence and sovereignty. Imperialist America is creating a new war frenzy all over the world today. This attack on Iran was carried out in the continuation of the naked attack on Venezuela and the continuous threat of aggression on Cuba, through which the world, including the Middle East, is being pushed towards a new terrible war.
We call on the peace-loving, anti-war people of the whole world, including Bangladesh, to raise their voices to stop the military aggression of imperialist America and Israel on Iran. I call upon you. And I call upon the Bangladesh government to immediately issue a statement on its position against the joint military attack by the US and Israel on Iran. “If necessary, we will hold more protest marches and meetings and increase our manpower to protest.”
In this way, after a series of discussions with other guests and leaders and activists of the organization, today’s meeting was declared over.
