With the slogan of Referendum 2026, the key to the country is in your hands, a camping and discussion meeting was held in favor of the ‘Yes’ vote on the occasion of the referendum at Saifun Bazar, Kanial Khata (Munshipara) of Nilphamari Sadar on Saturday (January 17, 2025) at 7 pm. The hour-long program was jointly organized by Insaf Kalyan Foundation, Dwiptman Human Development and Social Welfare Organization, and Niraap Yuba Kalyan Sangstha.
The speakers at the meeting referred to the Referendum 2026 as an important opportunity for the people to determine the future of the country. The discussion highlighted the issues of caretaker government system, independent election commission, mandatory referendum for constitutional amendments, term limits for the Prime Minister, independence of the judiciary, and protection of fundamental rights. The speakers said that these reforms can be implemented only through a ‘Yes’ vote in the referendum.
The event was chaired by Abdus Salam, President of Niraap Jubo Kalyan Sangstha, and was attended by Abdul Momin, President of Dwiptman Human Development and Social Welfare Organization, Akhtaruzzaman Khan, President of Insaf Kalyan Foundation, as the chief guest, Md. Ziaur Rahman Zia, Joint Convener of July Joddha Sangsad, Nilphamari District, as the special guest, and Md. Abu Hamzala Sharif, Member Secretary of Insaf Manch. The event was hosted by Jewel Rana.
