A man named Babu has been accused of stabbing and injuring autorickshaw driver Hridoy Mia in Nabinagar Sadar, Brahmanbaria. The incident took place on Sunday (May 3, 2026) afternoon in front of the abandoned house of Zamindar Manomohan Babu. The injured Hridoy is the son of Rahis Mia of Bijoy Para in Nabinagar Sadar and the accused Babu is the son of Md. Amanullah of College Para in Sadar.
Eyewitnesses said that at one point during the argument between them, the accused Babu ambushed the autorickshaw driver Hridoy and fled. Later, locals rescued Hridoy in a bloody state and quickly took him to the Nabinagar Upazila Health Complex. After receiving primary treatment there, when his condition deteriorated, the doctor on duty sent him to the District Sadar Hospital for advanced treatment.
Muhammad Rafiqul Islam, the acting police inspector (OC) of Nabinagar Police Station, said, “The victims have filed a written complaint with the police station. We have been trying to arrest the accused after the incident, subject to investigation.”
