Md. Montu (35) has been arrested with 30 pieces of Yaba in Ranishankail upazila of Thakurgaon district. He was arrested from Doshia area of the municipal town on Sunday (April 26) night.
According to police sources, based on a secret tip-off, SI Kamlesh of Ranishankail police station and a police team conducted a raid and arrested Md. Montu red-handed with 30 pieces of Yaba and 11 thousand 900 taka of sale money. The arrested Montu is the son of Abdul Hamid of Doshia (Mominara) village of the upazila.
In this regard, Officer-in-Charge of Ranishankail police station Mr. Md. Amanullah Al Bari confirmed the matter. He said that the arrested accused was sent to jail on Monday, April 27. He said, “A zero tolerance policy has been announced against drugs and such raids will continue.”
