Ulshi Canal re-excavation inaugurated

The Honorable Prime Minister of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and BNP Chairman Mr. Tarique Rahman arrived in Jessore today to officially inaugurate the re-excavation of Jessore’s historic Ulshi Canal. Today, the entire Jessore district has turned into a festive city centered on his visit after a long time.

When the special plane carrying the Prime Minister landed at Jessore Airport this morning, she was given a warm welcome with state and party honors. Present to welcome the Prime Minister at the airport were: BNP Vice Chairman Professor Nargis Begum, BNP Vice Chairman, Honorable State Minister for the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Khulna Divisional BNP Acting Organizing Secretary, Anindya Islam Amit and various district-level leaders.

After completing the airport formalities, the Prime Minister left for Sharsha Ulshi by road.

At this time, the Sharsha road in Jessore has become a sea of ​​people. Thousands of common people and party leaders and workers have been gathering on both sides of the road since early morning to catch a glimpse of their beloved leader. The Prime Minister’s arrival in this town, which is associated with the memories of the ‘

Ulshi Revolution’, was met with great excitement among the common people. The Prime Minister was greeted with flower showers and slogans at every corner of the road. Her motorcade, overcoming the crowd, was seen moving very slowly towards its destination.

In the 1970s, the then President Shaheed Ziaur Rahman created a new trend of development in the country through the historic Ulshi-Jadunathpur canal excavation project on the basis of voluntary work. Maintaining that continuity and to relieve waterlogging in the region and accelerate the agricultural revolution, the current Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is inaugurating this re-excavation program.

After inaugurating the re-excavation work in Ulshi, the Prime Minister will address a huge public meeting at the Central Eidgah of Jessore. The local administration and law enforcement agencies have taken impeccable security measures for the Prime Minister’s visit and public meeting.
