A young man’s five toes were severed in a fight over drugs

A young man named Md. Bachchu Matubbar (40) was hacked to death and five toes were severed in a dispute over drugs in Saltha, Faridpur.

The incident took place at around 8 pm on Tuesday (September 2) in the Baradia Bazar area of ​​the upazila’s Gotti Union. The injured Bachchu is the son of the deceased Chhattar Matubbar of Kathalbaria village in the same area. According to local sources, Bachchu Matubbar and local Babul Matubbar had been in a dispute for a long time over sharing drug money and drug use.

Bachchu beat Babul about this approximately three months ago. To avenge the incident, Bablu attacked Bachchu indiscriminately with a machete at around 8 pm on Tuesday. In this, five toes of Bachchu’s right foot were severed. He also suffered injuries in various places on his body.

Later, locals rescued him in a seriously injured condition and admitted him to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
Confirming the incident, Saltha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Ataur Rahman said, a young man named Bachchu was hacked to death due to a previous dispute and a dispute over drugs. Police have been deployed in the area due to tension surrounding the incident. Legal action will be taken if a complaint is received.
