Anti-drug volleyball competition-2026 held in Chapainawabganj

The ‘Anti-Drug Volleyball Competition-2026’ was held in Shibganj, Chapainawabganj in a colorful event to raise public awareness against drugs. The competition was held at Abbas Bazar in Kansat, Shibganj Upazila at 3 pm on Wednesday (January 14).

In the final game, the Abbas Bazar team of Shibganj Upazila defeated the Gomostapur Upazila Hogla team by 58-71 points and became the champion. The main theme of this competition, organized jointly by the District Administration and the Narcotics Control Department, Chapainawabganj, was – “Not drugs, but life’s victory”. Professor Dr. Biplob Kumar Majumdar, Principal of Chapainawabganj Government Women’s College, was present as the chief guest at the event.

Chowdhury Imrul Hasan, Deputy Director of the Narcotics Control Department, Chapainawabganj, presided over the event. In his speech as the chief guest, Professor Dr. Biplob Kumar Majumder said, “There is no alternative to sports to protect the youth from the clutches of drugs. Young people need to return to the field regularly to build a healthy and beautiful life.” In his speech as the president, Chowdhury Imrul Hasan said, “The administration’s initiatives alone are not enough to create a drug-free society; in this regard, the common people and guardians need to come forward collectively.” Assistant Professor Abdul Mobin, Assistant Professor Md. Masum, Md. Thomas Master and local sports enthusiasts were also present at the time.

A large number of spectators attended the volleyball competition and encouraged the players. At the end of the game, prizes were distributed among the players of the winning and runner-up teams.
