Exchange of views with Hindu farmers’ group in Birganj

Birganj (Dinajpur) Correspondent:

A meeting with Hindus was held at Chankali Bazar Hari Mandir in Mohammadpur Union No. 7 of Birganj Upazila of Dinajpur on Monday (September 8, 2025) at 9 pm under the initiative of Bangladesh Hindu, Buddhist, Christian Unity Welfare Front.

The chief guest of the meeting was Md. Manjurul Islam, member of the Central Executive Committee of Bangladesh Nationalist Farmers’ Party, Vice President of District BNP and President of Birganj Upazila BNP.

He said, “This country is for people of all religions. Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Christians—we are all children of this motherland. Everyone must unite in the struggle to restore democracy and establish the rights of the people. Real democracy cannot be established if the security or rights of any community are violated.”

Upazila BNP Vice President Mahamudu Nabi Ward, Upazila BNP Joint General Secretary Shawkat Julius Jewel, Upazila Jubo Dal Member Secretary Tanvir Chowdhury, Upazila Jubo Dal Senior Joint Convener Abdul Jabbar, Upazila Chhatra Dal President Mostafizur Rahman Akash, Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Oikya Kalyan Front Convener Manoj Kumar Roy, Member Secretary Tikkaram Roy, 7th Mohammadpur Union BNP President Mohsin Ali and General Secretary Abdul Jabbar spoke as special guests.

Upazila BNP Executive Committee Member Sumon Ali delivered the welcome speech at the meeting. He said, “BNP has always been, is and will always be by the side of the minority community. We want everyone to build a peaceful society together.”

More local leaders and Hindu religious dignitaries were present at the event.
