The microphones of the Habilasdwip Multipurpose High School Mosque, the oldest and most traditional educational institution in the Habilasdwip Union of Patiya Upazila of Chittagong South District, have been useless for a long time, and it has been difficult to conduct religious activities including regular Azan, Milad, Doa Mahfil and other related activities of the mosque. In this regard, the mosque management committee has approached various political leaders and social organization leaders of the area and Patiya Upazila, but no charitable person has come forward.
Finally, as soon as this news was known, the former MP of Chittagong-12 Patiya constituency, former General Secretary of Chittagong South District BNP, member of the BNP National Executive Committee, media personality, publisher editor of the daily newspaper Pratidin, Alhaj Gazi Muhammad Shahjahan Jewel, immediately purchased a whole set of new microphones and related equipment for the mosque today, Saturday, August 16-25, after Asr, with his own money and sent it to the mosque management committee.
It is worth mentioning that Gazi Muhammad Shahjahan Jewel is a former meritorious student of the said Habilasdwip High School. During the handover of the microphone and related equipment given by Gazi Muhammad Shahjahan Jewel to the mosque management committee, former president of Patia Upazila Jubo Dal, young social worker Md. Fazlul Quader, Union BNP leader Haji Deen Muhammad, senior teacher of Habilasdwip High School Md. Selim Master, president of the mosque management committee Md. Zayedul Haque, teacher of Habilasdwip School Md. Abdul Malek, local businessman Md. Mahabul Alam Sawdagar, the imam of the mosque and regular worshippers of the mosque were present as his representatives. Later, after Asr, the imam of the mosque conducted a prayer mahfil for the good health and long life of Mr. Alhaj Gazi Muhammad Shahjahan Jewel.
