Saltha (Faridpur) Correspondent:
A human chain has been held in Saltha, Faridpur, to protest against false accusations and threats of theft in the name of Md. Munna Matubbar and Md. Nazmul Matubbar due to previous enmity and dispute.
Today, Sunday (August 10), at approximately 5 am, a robbery incident occurred at Md. Azizur’s grocery shop in Binokdia Bazar of Nagarkanda Police Station. According to people around, it seems that the theft occurred when the guards had finished their guard and left.
This afternoon, the human chain and protest meeting was held on the road in front of the bridge adjacent to the market with the sign of the Upazila Gotti Union. Hundreds of people from the market, including villagers, participated in the human chain.
Md. Nazmul Hossain said, we have a pond on the land of Meherdia Baribil, we wanted to take sand from there, but Mashiur, father Kutia Mia and Mosharraf, father – Aku Matubbar, have houses next to the land, so I refused to take sand from that land. From there, that good-natured Mashiur is harassing us in various ways. Raju Matubbar alleged that earlier Mashiur had taken a bribe of (2 lakh) taka from us in the name of the administration and sometimes sat in the market and talked falsely and nonsense.
In response to a question, the victim shopkeeper Azizur Rahman said, to my knowledge, Munnu Matubbar, Nazmul Matubbar, and Raju Matubbar are not drug dealers, and they are not consumers and false accusations of theft and drug dealing have been brought against them.
I locked my shop last night and went home. When I came home in the morning, I found the lock of my grocery shop broken. When I went inside and saw the goods in my shop in disarray, I realized that my shop had been stolen.
When I asked him for more information about this, he said that he did not see anyone stealing. However, among those who were seen in the video, Munna Matubbar, Nazmul and Raju were not seen. In this regard, Nazmul Matubbar said that we strongly protest against the false and fabricated allegations made against us and demand justice. When we tried to contact Md. Mashiur Rahman on his mobile to get his statement, his mobile was found switched off.
