One arrested with Indian cumin seeds in special operation by Purbadhala Police Station, Netrakona

A youth named Shahin Mia (25) has been arrested with a huge quantity of illegal Indian cumin in a special operation by Purbadhala Police Station.

He was arrested from the road in front of the Zaria Ansar Camp in the upazila at around 5 am on Sunday (May 3). The arrested Shahin Mia is the son of Abdus Sattar of Sagara village of Kishoreganj Sadar Police Station.

In a special operation, 21 sacks of Indian cumin were recovered in the early hours of Sunday, weighing about 6,000 kg and with an estimated market value of Tk 3,78,000.

Purbadhala Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun said that the accused was arrested along with the stolen goods in this special operation conducted in the early hours of the morning based on secret information. The process of registering a case in this incident is underway at the police station and the police will always continue to monitor such activities to curb crime.
