Two brothers were allegedly injured in an attack by the opposing party in the Kolagaon area of Patiya upazila over a land dispute. At that time, Patiya police station has been accused of robbing them of Tk 3,23,800 in cash.
The incident took place in front of Hashem Sawdagar’s shop in the Kolagaon area at around 2 am on March 15. The injured in the incident are Jahangir Alam (38), son of the deceased Solaiman of the Kolagaon area, and his brother Md. Shafiul Alam (32).
According to the complaint written to Patiya police station, the accused and the victim’s family had been in a dispute over family land and property for a long time. The complaint states that the accused attacked them with country-made weapons on the night of the incident.
The defendants in this incident are Nurul Alam, Zone Alam (46), Forkan Alam (29), Joynal Hossain, Habibul Haque (63), Shahjahan (39), and Md. Saifuddin (27). The police complaint states that during the attack, the accused hit Jahangir Alam and his brother Shafiul Alam indiscriminately with knives, iron rods, and sticks, seriously injuring them.
At one point, Jahangir Alam was robbed of Tk 3,23,800 in cash for selling chicken feed and chicks. Later, local people came forward and rescued the injured and took them to Patia Upazila Health Complex for treatment. Jahangir Alam, the victim in this incident, has filed a written complaint with Patia Police Station and demanded a proper investigation into the incident and legal action against the culprits.
