Tanore Primary School held the final game of the Gold Cup Football Tournament

The final match of the two-day primary school boys and girls Gold Cup football tournament was held at Tanore upazila level in Rajshahi. The final game was played at the mini stadium ground on Wednesday afternoon. The boys participated in the final match Chapra Primary School of Tanor Municipal Area vs Gagarand Primary School of Chanduria UP.

Chapra Primary School defeated Gagarand Primary School 4-1 to become champions. Chanduria Girls Primary School of UP vs Tetna Girls Primary School of Bandhed UP took part. Kathal Para Girls Primary School defeated Tetna Primary Girls School 3-1 in Tybaker after a goalless draw in regulation.

After the final game, the upazila executive officer UNO Naima Khan handed over the prizes to the winning and runner-up teams. Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer (THO) Barnabas Hasdak, Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Alamgir Hossain, Municipal BNP convener Ekram Ali Molla, Primary Teachers Association President Kundain Government Primary School Principal KM Ayesh Uddin, Vice President Tanor Girls Government Primary School Principal Ashraful were the guests in the award distribution ceremony organized by Upazila Primary Education Office. Islam, Vice President Sindukai Government Primary School Principal Sohrab Ali, Senior Vice President Taland Government Primary School Principal Ahsan Habib, Saranzai-1 Government Primary School Assistant Teacher Jahangir Alam, Assistant Teacher Azharul Kabir etc.

Upazila Sports Association general secretary Anwar Hossain, teachers Jahangir Alam and Kabir Hossain performed the duties of referee and coach in the game.

Earlier, 18 schools of boys and girls from seven unions and two municipalities of the upazila participated in the game last Wednesday.

Every government primary school at union and municipal level participates in the game. Champion team of union and municipality level gets chance to play at upazila level. 18 schools from seven unions and two municipalities participated in the game at the upazila level.

UNO Naima Khan told the players that the game will be lost. There is nothing to be upset about. You are playing finals among so many schools. This is a great achievement for you. Every player who participated in the finals has been given Madden so that you can play regularly.

The current government has started bailing out small early stage players. This is the continuation of this tournament. In the future, not only at the upazila level but also at the district level, who of you will be the champion.
