Various units of the law enforcement agencies have arrested 5 people, including a local BNP leader, in the case of a teenager being forcibly taken away from her father and raped and murdered in Madhabdi, Sadar Upazila of Narsingdi, after about 15 days of trying to cover up the rape incident.
The arrested are Mahishasura Union BNP Vice President Ahmed Ali Dewan, his son Imran Dewan, rapist Noora’s cousin Mohammad Ayub, Ebaidullah and Md. Gaffar Mia. On the night of Thursday, February 26, 2026, Fahima Begum, the mother of the deceased teenager Amena Begum (15), filed a rape and murder case with Madhabdi Police Station, naming 9 people. On the same night, various units of the law enforcement agencies of Narsingdi conducted separate raids and arrested five people.
It is worth mentioning that 5/6 thugs led by Noora gang raped the girl in a gang 15 days ago. Local member and Union BNP Vice President Ahmed Ali Dewan took the responsibility of investigating this incident. However, it has been alleged that he embezzled a huge amount of money by making financial arrangements with the criminals and covered up the incident without any trial and ordered the rapist’s father and his family to leave the village.
The criminals became more reckless as the incident was not investigated. After the rape incident on 10/2/26, the gang of thugs snatched the victim girl from her helpless father. Later, they gang-raped her again and brutally killed her. They fled, leaving behind the raped girl Amina Begum (15) in a mustard field in Kotalirchar Darikandi of Mahishasura Union.
Locals allege that this influential criminal gang is running a lobbying business to protect themselves by avoiding the law in exchange for money. Locals seek the attention of higher authorities in the administration to ensure that the criminals are not protected in any way.
The incident was investigated on the ground, the DIG of Dhaka Range and the Superintendent of Police of Narsingdi and other officials visited the spot in Madhabadi, Narsingdi. And assured a fair trial.
