Mysterious death of skilled and truthful journalist Nurul Amin

Ukhia (Cox’s Bazar) Correspondent:

Just 15 days ago, Nurul Amin had expressed his fear of hostility on Facebook Live. Today, that fear has come true. Dainik Pran Bangladesh’s Ukhia correspondent Nurul Amin is no more. The curtain has fallen on the life of a protesting voice due to death.

He reached Cox’s Bazar last night by car. And in the morning, locals found the dead body of Nurul Amin, the son of the deceased Junu Mia of Balukhali, hanging in the forest of the beach. He worked in the Rohingya camp by profession, and was also active in writing and journalism. He was vocal on social media about various contemporary issues.

According to locals, Nurul Amin was a brave and humane person who always protested injustice and stood by people in times of trouble. Although no major hostility was known about him, various questions have arisen surrounding the incident of his death.

The most worrying thing is that his Facebook ID was found to be active even after his death. The last record of being online was found 55 minutes ago. This clearly proves that the mobile phone he used is in the possession of the murder gang.

Such a death of a truthful and fearless journalist is unacceptable in any way. We strongly demand that the mystery of Nurul Amin’s death be unraveled quickly and those responsible be brought to justice. A fair investigation into this murder is essential in the interest of keeping Cox’s Bazar, an international tourist city, safe.
